Scholarships Awarded
Each year the MEF has the honor of awarding a $1,000, $750 or $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who has demonstrated not only high academic standards and leadership abilities while a student at Mercer, but also a willingness to give back to the community. The applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or better, complete a student portfolio, and also have a formal interview with the scholarship committee. Upon receiving the scholarship, the student is able to renew it for three more years as long as they are a full- time college student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The Mercer Education Foundation is proud to offer a scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors who wish to pursue Trade School, Apprenticeships, or Tech School. The scholarship awarded will range from $500 to $1000 and is renewable each year that the student is enrolled in their program or apprenticeship. There are no GPA requirements to apply. The student will need to present a portfolio and interview with the scholarship committee. The student will also need to show proof of acceptance to their specified program, apprenticeship or other educational program along with the cost of that program.
The MEF also honors students who show exemplary school spirit while attending Mercer High School. The School Spirit Scholarship is a one- time $500 award given to a Mercer graduating senior who has consistently shown a high level of school spirit. A teacher must nominate a student and submit the nomination to the MEF for review. The scholarship will be awarded at graduation. There is no minimum GPA to qualify for this scholarship.
